This course is designed for childcare providers, teachers, coaches, camp counselors, foster parents, babysitters, and anyone responsible for the care of infants and children.
In many states, including Washington, this course meets the CPR, AED, and First Aid training requirements for childcare providers. We recommend checking with your employer or licensing agency to confirm specific requirements.
Upon successful completion, participants receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED certification that is valid for 2 years.

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED is intended for childcare providers and the general public who care for children. BLS (Basic Life Support) is a healthcare-provider-level course intended for nurses, EMTs, physicians, and other clinical professionals. The certifications are not interchangeable and serve different audiences.
Yes. The American Heart Association Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course is available in a blended learning format that combines online coursework with an instructor-led, hands-on skills session. Students complete the online portion at their own pace and then attend an in-person skills check to demonstrate CPR, AED, choking relief, and first aid skills. Upon successful completion of both components, participants receive the same official American Heart Association certification card as those who complete a traditional classroom course.
At this time, we offer Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED as a blended learning course and through private group training. Individual students complete the online course first and then schedule an in-person skills session. This flexible format reduces classroom time while meeting American Heart Association certification requirements. Group training options are available for childcare centers, schools, camps, and organizations.
