FAQ

Common
questions.

Answers to common questions about choosing a class, certification, and what to expect.

Which CPR class do I need?

It depends on why you need certification. CPR, AED & First Aid is generally designed for workplaces, teachers, coaches, childcare providers and the general public. BLS is typically required for healthcare professionals. ACLS and PALS are advanced courses for healthcare professionals who need those certifications for their role.

Will this certification meet my employer's requirements?

Requirements vary by employer, profession and licensing organization. We offer American Heart Association (AHA) courses for BLS, ACLS and PALS, along with HSI CPR, AED and First Aid courses. If your employer requires a specific certification provider or course, confirm that requirement before registering.

Can I take my CPR or BLS class online?

Some courses are available in a blended format, allowing you to complete part of the course online before attending an in-person skills session. If hands-on skills are required for your certification, the online portion alone does not complete the certification process.

How long does the class take?

Class length depends on the course and format you choose. Some blended courses include online work completed before the in-person skills session, while full classroom courses generally take longer. Check the individual course page for the estimated time for your class.

How long is my certification valid?

Most of the certification courses we offer are valid for two years. Your certification card will show the applicable issue and expiration information for your specific course.

When will I receive my certification card?

Certification cards are issued after all required portions of the course have been successfully completed. The exact delivery process can vary depending on the certification program and course you take.

Do you offer CPR training for workplaces and groups?

Yes. We provide group CPR, AED and First Aid training for workplaces, schools, organizations and other groups. Training options depend on your location, group size, certification needs and scheduling availability.
