No. To receive a Health & Safety Institute (HSI) First Aid certification, students must complete both the required online coursework and an instructor-led skills session. The online portion allows students to learn the course material at their own pace, while the in-person session provides hands-on practice and skills evaluation.
In most cases, yes. This First Aid course follows the Heatlh & Safety Institute’s blended learning format, which combines online coursework with an in-person skills session conducted by an HSI instructor. Students must successfully complete both portions to receive an official Health & Safety Institute First Aid course completion card.
Many employers accept HSI blended learning courses because they include hands-on skills practice and evaluation. However, requirements can vary by employer or licensing agency, so we recommend confirming acceptance with your employer before registering.
At this time, we only offer First Aid in the Health & Safety Institute’s blended learning format, which includes online coursework followed by an in-person skills session.
If you are looking for a fully instructor-led, in-person option, consider our CPR AED & First Aid combination course. This course is completed entirely in person and does not require any online coursework.
Upon successful completion of either course format, students receive an official Health & Safety Institute (HSI) course completion card valid for 2 years.
